Richard & Becky Casteel · 50 years of ministry

Be the reason a leader doesn't quit.

For 50 years, Richard and Becky Casteel have come alongside pastors, missionaries, and leaders with encouragement, coaching, and prophetic ministry. Monthly partners are what make it possible for them to keep showing up.

Richard and Becky Casteel
Why this matters

Leaders don't quit because they lose faith. They quit because they're carrying it alone.

Every year, leaders walk away from their calling. Pastors leading full congregations. Missionaries deep in the field. Directors running growing ministries. From the outside, they look strong: preaching, planning, counseling, raising support, showing up for everyone else.

The problem isn't ability. It's that no one is asking how they're really doing.

Leaders who feel isolated are the ones most likely to give up. Encouragement and honest counsel at the right moment keep them going, and keep the ministry growing.
What Richard & Becky do

The ministry of showing up

One on one

Coaching leaders

Richard and Becky each carry an ongoing coaching load. Richard walks leaders through transitions, discouragement, and hard decisions. Becky leads the coaching team for the Women in Leadership Ministry cohorts, 14 coaches serving more than 80 participants, and coaches leaders one on one. Thanks to partners, this coaching costs the leaders nothing.

Being there

Encouragement that shows up

A retreat. A conference. A living room. A weekly word in a pastor's inbox. The method is the same: presence, hearing the story, and speaking honestly and prophetically to what's really going on.

Richard and Becky with leaders in Latin America
Special assignment

Latin America

Fifty years of ministry have taken the Casteels to a dozen countries on four continents, from Japan to South Africa to the Caribbean. But one region is home ground.

Richard and Becky serve missionaries and national leaders across Central and South America through Foursquare Missions International, showing up at retreats and gatherings to sit with the people carrying the work.

Richard grew up in Cuba and Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. When they walk into a room of Latin American leaders, those leaders know immediately: these are our people. It's a door they are honored to walk through, and your partnership keeps it open.

Fifty years

Fifty years in the making

Nobody becomes a pastor to pastors overnight. This calling was built one chapter at a time, and it has been fifty years, to the year.

Richard and Becky Casteel
Roots

Raised on the mission field

Richard grew up in Cuba and Mexico, the child of missionaries. His parents were among the missionaries who started a church movement in Cuba that has grown to more than 400 churches. Ministry was never a career choice. It was the family address.

Planting

Planting and serving

Church plants in Springfield, MO and Sierra Vista, AZ, plus assistant pastorates in Yakima, WA and Tucson, AZ: fifteen years of learning to lead by doing it.

Growth

35 years at Grace Chapel Scottsdale

Richard and Becky led the same church, side by side, for three and a half decades, planting and sending five churches and several ministries along the way.

Legacy

Leading the leaders

District supervisor for Arizona, Superintendent of Central Arizona Foursquare churches, and four years on the Foursquare denomination's international board. In 2021, LifePoint Christian University in Phoenix awarded him an honorary doctorate for 50 years of pastoral, missionary, and prophetic ministry. Decades of the same assignment: take care of the leaders.

One story

"Becky and Richard walked alongside me through my very challenging marriage — until my husband's passing."

"Becky coached me with active listening, compassion, and encouragement to keep finding joy in the chaos. Richard was a prophetic voice that gave me hope for a restored future — a future I am now living."

"I praise Jesus for them and their ministry, and I support them financially because I personally know the impact they make."

That is the whole ministry in one story.

The invitation

We can go because you send us.

Our goal is a partner team giving $5,000 a month, each partner giving what they can. That's what lets Richard and Becky reach more leaders, coach them at no cost, and be there before one of them gives up.
